For reliable airflow and consistent spray performance, both the airbrush and compressor should be maintained regularly.
After every use: Empty the remaining paint from the 7cc cup and flush the FE-130 with the correct cleaner until it sprays clear. Do not leave paint inside the airbrush between sessions, as dried material can clog the 0.3mm nozzle and fluid passages.
Needle & nozzle: If the spray becomes uneven, restricted or begins to sputter, carefully remove and clean the needle and nozzle. Wipe the needle toward the tip and avoid bending the fine point. Never force oversized cleaning tools through the nozzle.
Moisture trap: Check the transparent moisture filter regularly. If water collects inside, release the condensation using the drain valve at the bottom of the filter. This is particularly important during humid conditions or longer spraying sessions. The AS18-2 operating instructions specifically call for draining accumulated condensation.
Set pressure while spraying: Adjust the regulator while holding down the airbrush trigger. This gives you the actual working pressure rather than the higher static pressure shown when no air is flowing.
Keep the compressor ventilated: Place the compressor on a stable, dry surface with enough airflow around it. Do not cover it while operating. The compressor has thermal protection, but prolonged continuous use can still cause heat buildup.
No oil required: The FD18-2 is an oil-free compressor, so routine oil changes or lubrication of the compressor are not required.
Before storage: Switch the compressor off, disconnect it from power, drain any accumulated moisture and store the airbrush clean and dry.
