For consistent atomisation and reliable trigger response, clean the FE-180K immediately after each spraying session.
After every use: Empty the remaining paint from the 9ml cup, add the appropriate cleaner and spray until the liquid runs completely clear. Avoid allowing paint to dry inside the cup or fluid passage, particularly when using the finer 0.2mm setup.
Needle cleaning: If paint begins building up on the needle or spray quality decreases, carefully remove the needle from the rear of the airbrush and wipe it clean with a soft cloth and suitable cleaner. Always handle the tip carefully — even a small bend can affect the spray pattern.
Nozzle cleaning: The 0.2mm nozzle is especially fine, so avoid forcing cleaning needles or brushes through it. If clogged, allow the correct cleaner to soften dried material first and clean it gently.
Changing between 0.2mm and 0.3mm: Always use the matching needle and nozzle together. Do not combine a 0.2mm needle with the 0.3mm nozzle or vice versa.
MAC airflow valve: Keep the small airflow adjustment valve beneath the airbrush clean and free-moving. If airflow feels unusually restricted, first check that this valve has not been accidentally closed before disassembling the airbrush.
Needle limiter: The rear adjustment screw limits how far the needle can travel. If paint flow suddenly seems restricted, check the limiter position before assuming the nozzle is blocked.
Before storage: Flush out all remaining paint and cleaner, dry the airbrush and return the needle carefully to its normal position before storing it in the case.
